The Trading Post has a rich history in the Swan Lake valley. Built in 1926, the store previously served as the area post office, local market, and more, and it’s come to represent a touchstone of small-town hospitality that is beloved by the locals and appreciated by guests from all over world.

Everything you need at the historic trading post!

From its roots as a US Post Office to the variety of services it offered the locals for nearly 100 years, the Swan Lake Trading Post is more than just the check-in desk… it’s a gathering place, a social center for the community where kids can get candy and ice cream and locals perch on the wooden stools and discuss wildlife sightings and current events. Grab some necessities, pick up a fishing and hunting license, chat with travelers about news from out of state or just down the road. The Trading Post is a welcoming place where the conversation is always friendly and the coffee is always hot!

Our Rules & Policies

We want to make your stay both pleasant and comfortable. If you need information, please feel free to inquire at the Trading Post office. Please help us make your stay here more enjoyable through your cooperation with the following simple rules:

Check In: Check in after 1:00 pm on the day of your arrival.
Check Out: Check out by 12:00 pm (noon) on the day of your departure.
Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are 11:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please be considerate of other guests.
RV guests: Full hook-ups are available with sewer. NO dump station on-site.
Cabin guests: NO linens or towels provided. LED lighting available. NO electricity.
Children: Parents are responsible at all times for their children's safety and behavior. Please supervise small children in restrooms and showers.
Pets: 1 Pet per site allowed, $5 per additional pet. Animals must be kept on a 6 ft. leash and not be left unattended. Animals must not be tethered at campsite without a person present. Please help us keep the campground clean for all guests and pick up after your pet. Guests will be fined $5 for animals not on a leash. Fines will be added to your bill.
Vehicles: 2 vehicles allowed per site, $5 per vehicle per night for any additional vehicles. Please do not block the right of way.
Laundry room: Laundry room is open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Showers and Restrooms: On-site restrooms and hot showers available to all guests.
Wi-Fi available.
Garbage: Please help us keep the campground clean by depositing your garbage in the dumpsters located through the campground.
Bears: Be mindful we do get bears occasionally. DO NOT leave any food unattended at your campsite. Please clean up and put all food away. This will keep our campground a safe place for all guests. We DO NOT want the bears to be fed and come looking around the campground for food.
